On 25 November the SPCA wrote to China's Ambassador to Singapore, Mr Wei Wei, to voice our objections on the crush videos circulating on the internet, depicting cruelty to animals. We requested that he urge his government to ban the production, sale and distribution of such videos which are believed to have originated in China.

The SPCA has also written to China's Ambassador to the U.N. ,Wang Yingfan expressing our shock at these animal cruelty videos and to request that he urges his government to take action to protect animals from such egregious cruelty through banning the production and distribution of cruel "crush films" and videos which depict barbaric acts causing animals to suffer.
