ASSISTANT MANAGER (FINANCE & ADMIN)

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for a highly independent and dynamic individual for the post of Assistant Manager (Finance & Admin). The job requires you to oversee the Society’s finance and admin departments. You will lead, inspire and empower dedicated staff to achieve their potential and to provide critical support for SPCA’s animal protection work.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause by working in a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to serving the animals in our community.

Key responsibilities:

Finance

  • Oversee the running of finance functions to ensure day-to-day operations of overall accounting and finance activities
  • To manage and approve accounting, donations and membership transactions
  • To ensure timely submission of all transaction reports, oversee and approve procurement processes and giro donation management
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance to all codes and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and review the full monthly closing and year end closing process, and all financial reporting activities including management reporting and financial analysis
  • Preparation of finance reports, budgetary requirements and year-end submissions to government regulatory bodies e.g. IRAS

Administrative

  • Oversee the Society’s general administration, and ensure that all departments have the required administrative support to carry out their work and are in compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Oversee the Society’s human resource management
  • To develop and maintain policies and procedures for functions such as donations and membership management, accounting, fundraising, volunteers, procurement, merchandising and human resources management

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy/Finance or relevant professional qualification
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in relevant field, including management experience
  • Experience with accounting software
  • IT savvy
  • Strong planning, analytical and decision making abilities
  • Mature and personable with excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and interact at all levels
  • Be able to undertake a hands-on approach to managing departments

ANIMAL RESCUE OFFICER (ARO)

At the SPCA, animal rescue work is challenging, exciting and rewarding. Our rescue officers receive an approximate of 600 reported cases of animals in distress on a monthly basis.

We are seeking individuals that are responsible, physically fit, professional and passionate about animal welfare.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend to cases of animals that are sick, injured or in distress.
  • Perform general driving duties in line with operations at the SPCA.
  • Maintenance of vehicles and equipment assigned to you.

Requirements:

  • Bilingual
  • GCE 'N' or 'O' level
  • Applicants must possess a valid class 3 driving licence
  • Be able to work rotating shifts (including weekend and after hours duty)
  • Be able to work rotating shifts (8am to 5 pm) (including weekend and public holidays)
  • 5 days’ work week
  • Training will be provided

FINANCE EXECUTIVE

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for a dynamic and committed individual to join our team as Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage (TNRM) Finance Executive.

As the Finance Executive, you will facilitate the smooth daily operations of a large scale dog sterilisation project, promote high standards of animal welfare and provide excellent service to our clients. You will be well placed to make a difference for the animals by working on an impactful humane population management project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meticulously prepare and maintain accounts and records, and prepare regular reports
  • Checking and verification of documentation
  • Management of vendors and contractors
  • Achieve all project targets consistently and deliver high quality services to all clients
  • Assist with the deployment of resources and ensure day to day operations run smoothly, taking decisive corrective action when required

Requirements:

  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Formal qualifications in finance/admin related areas preferred
  • At least two years of finance/admin working experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, be meticulous and meet deadlines consistently
  • Mature and personable with strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and interact at all levels

FIELD OFFICER (TNRM)

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for a dynamic and committed individual to join our team as Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage (TNRM) Field Officer.

As a Field Officer, you will be part of an operations team managing a large scale dog sterilisation project, promoting high standards of animal welfare and providing excellent service to our clients. You will be well placed to make a difference for the animals by working on an impactful humane population management project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that high standards of animal welfare are maintained for all animals in the project
  • Managing dog trapping operations on the ground, ensuring trapping targets are met consistently
  • Conducting field surveys and collecting data
  • Mediating human-animal conflict cases
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Animal handling experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Class 3 driving license, with at least two years driving experience
  • Able to work shifts, including weekends
  • Mature and personable with strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively

The SPCA’s clinic is unique, as it is a not-for-profit clinic serving needy animals in Singapore. These include street dogs and cats, abused and rescued animals, shelter animals and pets from low income households.

Key Responsibility:

  • General clinical duties including consultations and surgeries

Requirements:

  • Passion for animal welfare
  • Degree in Veterinary Medicine recognised by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) with at least one to two years of small animal clinical experience
  • Possess work rights in Singapore

The SPCA’s clinic is unique, as it is a not-for-profit clinic serving needy animals in Singapore. These include street dogs and cats, abused and rescued animals, shelter animals and, eventually, pets from low income households. 

As part of the clinic team, you will be responsible for the provision of the highest standards of veterinary medicine and care. As our clinic is currently expanding, you will be instrumental in helping us grow and develop into a full-fledged community animal clinic. You will also be involved with community health programmes that make a direct and positive impact on the lives of animals and their human caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General clinical duties including consultations and surgeries
  • Monitor clinic and shelter disease control measures
  • Oversee the health and welfare of all animals in the clinic and shelter
  • Assist with the strategic development, planning and delivery of enhanced veterinary capabilities and impactful community health programmes
  • Assist with developing and running a training programme for veterinary personnel

Requirements:

  • Passion for animal welfare and strong interest in shelter medicine

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is looking for a dynamic and committed individual to join our community animal clinic and help spearhead its pioneering efforts. The SPCA’s clinic is unique, as it is a not-for-profit clinic serving needy animals in Singapore. These include street dogs and cats, abused and rescued animals, shelter animals and, eventually, pets from low income households. 

As the Senior Veterinarian, you will be responsible for the provision of the highest standards of veterinary medicine and care. As our clinic is currently expanding, you will be instrumental in helping us grow and develop into a full-fledged community animal clinic. You will also be involved with community health programmes that make a direct and positive impact on the lives of animals and their human caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

Veterinary duties

  • Lead and support the clinic team to fulfil our mission to provide quality veterinary medicine to needy animals
  • General clinical duties including consultations and surgeries
  • Implement and oversee clinic and shelter disease control measures
  • Oversee the health and welfare of all animals in the clinic and shelter
  • Be actively involved with the strategic development, planning and delivery of enhanced veterinary capabilities and impactful community health programmes

Administrative duties

  • Ensure that all clinical records are appropriately documented and stored
  • Ensure all clinic related regulations and codes are complied with
  • Develop and implement a training programme for veterinary personnel

Requirements:

  • Passion for animal welfare and strong interest in shelter medicine

  • At least seven years of small animal clinical experience
