Featured here are just some of the many cases that SPCA handles in the course of its work.

Dog kept in area without shelter
In December 2009, the SPCA investigated a case where the owners had kept their dog day and night in an enclosed space without any shelter from the elements.

Rabbit abandoned at HDB stairwell
In January 2010, a rabbit was reported abandoned for days at a staircase landing in a HDB block.

Cats straying and breeding
In February 2010, SPCA Inspectors investigated a case involving a pet owner keeping unsterilised cats and allowing them to stray outside the unit. The cats were reproducing and some of them were found in poor health. More than 20 cats were being kept at the unit.

Two kittens abandoned
These two kittens were found abandoned in a condominium premises in February 2010.

Cats in cramped conditions
In March 2010, two adult cats and their kittens were found cramped into a small grill-bottomed cage.

Rabbit found in poor and neglected condition
In March 2010, a rabbit was found abandoned with severe scabies and very poor body condition.

71 hamsters surrendered to the SPCA
In April 2010, an owner surrendered 71 hamsters because she was 'unable to care for them anymore'.

Red-eared sliders found in poor living conditions
In April 2010, five red-eared sliders were found living swimming in small buckets of filthy water. The owner had neglected their care as he had no time to look after them.

Dogs abandoned in drain
On May 2010, these three dogs, one Jack Russell Terrier and two Shihtzus, were found in this metal cage, in a drain. They were in poor physical condition, evidently neglected and abandoned by their owner.
