Kindness Week was officially launched on the 9th of April 2006 @ Bedok Reservoir Park by our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Zainaul Abidin Rasheed. The objective of the whole progamme is to create awareness and to encourage small acts of kindness in the community. This year, the focus was on creating awareness on gracious driving/ road courtesy, and being kind to the environment by caring for nature, caring for the animals, or recycling.
Kindness Week @ GMPS was an exciting affair. This year, we've decided show our act of kindness to the animals at the SPCA. During assembly, the students got to know some of the featured animals living at the SPCA through the illustrated slides. As a school, we embarked on
a "Pet Food Donation Drive" to aid these cute animals at the SPCA. Our students got excited and the pet food came pouring in! Such simple acts of kindness from our big hearted students!

The highlight of the week would be the cat origami activity. Everyone learnt to fold an origami of a cat in the hall during assembly. In 4 simple steps, everyone had a little cat face in their hands.

During recess, the students brought their cat origami down to the canteen and pasted it on a drawing block. Students then wrote a little message to the animals at the SPCA alongside their kitty origami! As a result, we had a huge collage of colourful kitten faces!
Students are able to see all these messages at the CME Corner, along with the featured animals from the SPCA. Students are now more aware of strays and caring for the animals

On behalf of the school, a big heartfelt THANKS to all the students and teachers who were involved in any way, in the donation or collection of pet food, or in penning your kind messages down to the animals at the SPCA. We pray for all the animals at the SPCA, a happy life ahead!
