Methodist Girls School (MGS) was the target of SPCA's education effort on the 22 May. It was a nice time to go because the mid-year exams were over and the primary four girls were brimming with excitement and enthusiasm with the June holidays fast approaching.

To start off the session, our Education Executive, Selina Sebastian gave a well-received talk about the responsibility it takes to own a pet and what they can do if they witness an animal being abused.
When Amir Khan, the cuddly cat made an appearance, the girls could hardly contain their excitement. Amir Khan was a purrfect ambassador and won everyone's hearts with his gentle and affable manner.

What followed was a fun origami session where the girls were shown how to make an origami dog and cat, and encouraged to write down their special wish for the animals which they eagerly did. These were then pinned up on their class notice boards for all to see. It was really heart-warming to read the special messages that the students had for our furry friends. Lots of words of love and compassion for animals, and what they had learned from the talk.

Then came the highlight of the event. A play that the students performed on responsible pet ownership. It was adorable to see the kids dressed up as cats and dogs and performing with such passion to get the message across. Each pupil earned themselves an SPCA badge for their wonderful effort.

Thank you MGS and the teachers for inviting us for the past three years for this very fruitful session with your pupils. We look forward to more opportunities for many years to come - for the animals!
