It is not everyday that students get to bring their pets to school. But St. Margaret Secondary School girls did just that on Saturday 28th June for their Pethathon cum Animal Awareness Day.

The morning started on an educational note with a talk by the students about the importance of being responsible pet owners followed by an engaging skit to drive home the message. Thereafter it was a healthy walk for all, which culminated in a fun filled carnival at their Farrer Road premises.

SPCA's booth did a thriving business with students constantly milling around wanting to know about adoption, care of animals and buying merchandise. Our quiz session was especially a hit as students eagerly answered five questions on animal welfare to earn themselves an exclusive SPCA poster. Special thanks have to go to Sec 1N7 who did an excellent job of manning the stall.

There were pets, food stalls and animal related games galore from "saving the animals" to "poach the poacher". The pet food drive garnered many boxes of pet food that filled up the office entrance.

Thank you St Margaret Secondary for making SPCA a big part of this special and meaningful celebration in support of our furry friends.
