Animals react differently towards different people. We highly encourage potential adopters to visit the animals personally to learn more about them from our shelter staff members. Together with an interaction session, you will then be able to see for yourself how well the animal can get along with you and your family.

Bouncy Benji Jr is a playful and affectionate dog whose motor kicks in every time sees another dog (and sometimes when he sees food too)! While eager to play, he can also be clumsy in understanding other dogs, so he will need time and a proper introduction. Curious and food-motivated, Benji Jr is happy being the centre of your attention as well as exploring outside.  He's just looking for the right home with patience and love.

Dhoby is a very active dog who can't wait to go for walks. He will happily greet every familiar person he meets and can be overexcited when doing so. He is a very intelligent dog who picks up new things quickly. Dhoby is not comfortable with people touching his paws, mouth and head, especially through restraint and force. But through force-free counter-conditioning and desensitisation training done at the correct pace, he is learning that touching him is nothing he needs to be afraid of.

Dhoby needs a family with an orderly life that has a lot of time to spend with him and which will continue his force-free training.

LIKES:

  • Showing off my tricks
  • Hanging around with humans
  • Playing fetch (I will defend my toys so watch your hand, and trade me for the toy with another toy)

AVOID:

  • Petting me too long, especially on my head (I like short calm strokes on my back)
  • Introducing me to other dogs too quickly (I need time to learn to be calm around them)

Cinnamon makes you work hard to earn his trust. But having earned it, you will be his BFF. Initially, he might avoid eye contact, slink away or even bark at you if you are a new face to him. But, really, all the shy puppy is asking you for is time, space and patience in getting to know him. Over time, he will show you his true nature and it is irresistible. He's playful, exuberant, and goofy. Always ready to sit or go into a down position for a reward, he knows that being calm and cooperative is the answer to getting his rewards, such as going out on walks and rubs at his sides. With patience and consistency in handling him using rewards-based training, he will be your best pal forever

LIKES:

  • Going out on walks
  • Rubs at the sides of his tummy
  • Food puzzles

AVOID:

  • Raising your arms over him
  • Sudden movements that will startle him
  • Staring at him into his eyes
