How can young people like yourself help us and our animal welfare cause? The best way is by creating awareness about the work we do in your school. Very often, animals are abandoned and abused because of the lack of awareness and knowledge in animal welfare.

Talks, Talks, Talks

For a start, you can arrange talks where we can be invited to give a talk in your school about pet responsibilities and kindness to animals.

SPCA Visits

You could also arrange a visit to our SPCA premises for your class where they get to learn more about the SPCA and here is the fun bit... You'll get to interact with our animals!

SPCA Club

If you love animals, this is the club to join. You can become a junior or youth member. It's a great way to show your support for the cause and help the animals at our shelter. You can get a membership form here.

Fundraising

You young people are a creative and fun lot! Perhaps you can come up with a more exciting way to fundraise and create awareness for the animals!

    For example:
  • - one group of students recently had a donation food drive by getting their fellow friends to donate dog and cat food.
  • - another group their friends to donate used products e.g., stationery sets, books in good condition and then held a jumble sale. Everyone who bought a jumble item got a free raffles ticket (you can print 500) and the winners won SPCA t-shirts. The students managed to raise $1600 through this exercise.
  • - yet another group of students got the school to collect as many old newspapers as possible. They then sold the newspapers and the money raised went to the SPCA.The class that collected the most newspaper got to visit the SPCA and play with the animals.

These are just some of the ideas. All ideas are welcome!

Flag Day

Our Flag Day for 2008 is on the 5th July (Sat). Perhaps you can sign on for that if you're 15 and above!
